The 2020 sustainability representative from the guild had come across the issue of contamination in the recycling bins and realised the current signage in place was ineffective. Acune Skincare, a fictitious brand I created for the purposes of this project, is a natural skincare range that focuses on reducing the appearance of acne, redness and inflammation. For this brand, I created an identity and packaging system, steering away from the more sterile and uninviting pharmaceutical packaging often seen in stores, and creating packaging that was modern eye-catching.

The Murdoch Open Showcase is the end of year showcase held at Murdoch University displaying work from students enrolled in Creative Media Disciplines with the addition of Theatre and Strategic communications. This showcase is designed by both the students and staff as part of the service design unit. I was part of the design team for the showcase in 2020 where we came up with the theme of ‘Futurism’, being hopeful for the future and using our design skills to create and contribute to a better future.

Understanding my family heritage through composited images

I was inspired by the artist Jane Long and her series titled “Dancing with Costicâ”, in which she has taken old photographs, colourised them, and put them into a new context. I created two composited images, both of which highlight the importance of heritage and family.
